The Gin Joint’s New Spring Menu Includes Everything From Fizzy Drinks to Lamb Burgers
The Gin Joint, the popular 49-seat downtown bar located on East Bay Street, has rolled out it’s spring menu just in time for the warmer weather.
“Some of the most popular cocktails so far have been the Sockhop Fizz, the Tipsy Hedren, and the Kentucky Sunrise,” said owner Wells Bolt. “The food menu this spring is also incredible; the lamb burger is to die for and the crab salad is the perfect light and bright snack for patio weather.”
The Sockhop Fizz is a mix of Gin, Rose, Lemon, Melted Ice Cream (yes, really!), and Pink Bubbles.
The Tipsy Hedren, a modern take on a tiki favorite, is a concoction consisting of Navy Strength Gin, Pineapple Liqueur, Lime Acid, and Campari.
For the bourbon drinker looking to try something different, the Kentucky Sunrise is a blend of Bonded Bourbon, Passionfruit, Coffee Liqueur, Lemon, Absinthe, and Tonic.
The Gin Joint’s spring food menu boasts some new plates including the Lamb Burger — Double patties, sheep’s cheese, house “olive” pickles, Tzatziki aioli, chopped almonds, and shiso, and the Crab Salad featuring coconut, heart of palm, citrus, fresno chile, fried garlic, cilantro, and plantain chips.
Raw and Roasted Oyster singles, Pimento Cheese Dip, and House Made Soft Pretzels with beer mustard remain staples on the menu. The Gin Joint also offers a large selection of cheeses from local cheese purveyors, Counter Cheese Caves, who source their products from small scale cheese makers across the country.
