Charleston County Greenbelt Advisory Board Subcommittee to Review Seven New Projects
The Subcommittee of the Charleston County Greenbelt Advisory Board (GAB) will hold meetings during March and April to review seven new project applications. The GAB Subcommittee will consider three urban projects on Wednesday, March 31st and four rural projects on Wednesday, April 14th.
Both meetings will begin at 9 am and are open to the public. Meetings will take place in-person in Council Chambers on the second floor of the Lonnie Hamilton, lll Public Services Building, located at 4045 Bridge View Drive, North Charleston, 29405. Citizen can also view meetings online via the Charleston County Vimeo Channel.
The new Greenbelt projects, consisting of 265 acres and totaling $2.3 million, are located in McClellanville, James Island, Johns Island, Meggett and Sullivan’s Island.
The Subcommittee is a six-member committee appointed by the GAB to review, evaluate and make recommendations to the GAB regarding applications for funding. The full GAB is scheduled to consider the new projects at their meeting in May.

Funding for the Greenbelt Program comes from the Charleston County Transportation (“Half-Cent”) Sales Tax.
