Reading Partners Hosts Community Read with Author Jeffrey Blount
Berkeley County Library System and Reading Partners of South Carolina will host a virtual book discussion and conversation about educational equity with author and Reading Partners national board member Jeffrey Blount on April 22nd from 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm. The event will include remarks from Blount, a moderated conversation around educational equity, and a Q&A where attendees are invited to submit questions.
Blount is an accomplished author, Emmy award-winning director, and inspiring speaker. His latest novel, The Emancipation of Evan Walls, explores the complexities of being “young, gifted, and Black” in America—an experience that can be uniquely empowering and simultaneously isolating. The book mirrors elements of Blount’s own lived experience and inspired pieces of Evan Walls’ fictional story.
