SC Works Trident To Host Two Virtual Hiring Events

SC Works Trident is continuing its commitment to connect job seekers with top employers by hosting two virtual hiring events this week.

The first event will take place on Tuesday, April 27th at 10 am and feature representatives from FedEx. Recruiters from FedEx are currently hiring for both full and part-time package handler positions and will be available to answer any questions.

In addition, SC Works Trident is hosting a virtual hospitality hiring event, featuring Marriott and Belmond Charleston Place. The hiring event will take place on Wednesday, April 28th from 10 am to noon. Both organizations are hiring immediately for multiple positions including, housekeeper, maintenance tech, and server.

“Even as vaccines continue to be more widespread and COVID-19 safety measures become more relaxed, we understand that a connection gap still exists between area business leaders and qualified job candidates,” said Sharon Goss, Berkeley-Charleston-Dorchester Council of Governments Workforce Development director. “We want both employers and those who are looking for work to know that SC Works Trident is here to bridge that gap. From hiring events and resume workshops to specific job training such as a CDL class through the WIOA program, we have everything you need to take your next step.”

The virtual offering on Tuesday will be the latest installment in the weekly virtual hiring event series, a new series that was launched in February to provide a safe and effective way for employers to connect with qualified candidates in light of the pandemic. Since it launched in February, the virtual hiring event series has connected hundreds of job seekers with 12 employers including, MUSC Health, AutoZone, Thorne, and Nexstar Media Group.

SC Works Trident encourages attendees to be prepared for the event by following these guidelines:

• Update resume before the hiring event
• Pre-register for the event at https://www.scworkstrident.org/events/
• Be prepared to email your updated resume to employers
