Charleston Friends of the Library Welcomes Nulani Bennett as Operations Manager Ahead of That BIG Book Sale
The Charleston Friends of the Library (CFOL) today announced Nulani Bennett has been named the organization’s new Operations Manager ahead of the 39th Annual That BIG Book Sale taking place the weekend of May 28-30, 2021.
As a young professional, Bennett has seven years of non-profit experience and is known for maximizing the operation’s potential and building strong relationships in the community. She most recently served as the YEP! Director at Lowcountry Orphan Relief where she provided programs and services for the young adult population in foster care. Before that, she worked as a Career Development Trainer at Palmetto Goodwill where she was responsible for new hire orientation, and the start-up of the Hospitality and Culinary Kick-Start programs. Nulani is a Charleston native who grew up in West Ashley. She has always had a love and passion to help the very same community that helped shape and mold her into the young professional she is today.
“I am humbled and elated to join CFOL,” Bennett said. “I am looking forward to continuing to grow and connect with the community that continues to support CFOL and the love for our libraries.”
Susan Hoffius, President of the CFOL Board of Directors, said: “The Friends are delighted to welcome Nulani to the organization. With her strong background in non-profits, volunteer management, and event planning, we look forward to putting her talents to good use to improve operations for the FOL and, in turn, increase our support for the Library,” said Susan adds that “Nulani arrives just in time for That BIG Book Sale, our largest fundraiser of the year.”
