The Seven Must Have Handbags in Your Wardrobe

Every woman who is even the tiniest bit into fashion knows that the right shoes and handbag are essential components for any good ensemble. Stylish people always tie their outfits together with smart bags and heels. A common story among fashion industry veterans is that when they were young and couldn’t afford designer duds, a nice bag would instantly elevate their outfits.

While no self-respecting woman will ever have enough bags, since we love buying and stocking up our closets, sometimes we are restricted in how many bags we can own. There may be any number of reasons for this, limited storage space, limited budget, or adopting a minimalistic way of life.

However, I have noticed that even super rich celebrities who have almost unlimited budgets to spend on their fashion and style choices follow a few basic styles when it comes to handbags, even though they can afford to swap out handbags on a daily basis. There are actually only a handful of handbag styles that most stylish people use, and in my opinion, these are the essential styles one must have in their wardrobe.

1. The EveryDay Handbag
   This is the one you take to work, school, or when you are running out for your groceries. Ideally a classic style, your everyday handbag should be spacious enough to carry all your daily essentials like wallet, phone, keys, makeup, wipes, and other everyday requirements.
2. The Envelope Day Clutch
   An envelope clutch is a large clutch that is good to round off your everyday smart casual look. This is what you carry for a coffee date or a random hangout session with your friends. It is still large enough to carry your basics, but more stylish than the everyday handbag.
3. The Formal Evening Clutch
   There is nothing worse than having to carry a large clunky handbag with a sexy evening dress. If you are going out in formal attire, you must carry a sexy and stylish clutch that suits your dress. You should own at least one fancy evening clutch in neutral gold or silver, something that will go with most formal wear.
4. The Handy Dandy Tote Bag
   This is roomy and practical handbag option that is hip and functional at the same time. A tote bag is a must have for every woman, especially if you’re the sort who likes to carry a lot of stuff. It is perfect for pairing up with jeans or completely casual looks.
5. The Weekender Or Duffle Travel Bags
   While not strictly a handbag option, weekender bags are great for short last minute trips, gym stuff, overnight sleepovers, or short romantic weekend getaways. They are roomy enough to pack everything you need for a short visit.
6. The In Crossbody Bag
   Crossbody bags are trendy and cool. They are perfect for days when you don’t have to carry a lot of stuff around with you. Just drop in your phone, keys, wallet and a lipstick, and you are good to go.
7. The Stylish Backpack
   I am not talking about the large and clunky hitchhiking packs. A small and smart leather backpack, or one made in other materials, adds a youthful look to your outfit. They are perfect for mall outings with friends, beach trips, and even days when you want to carry more around with you, like a laptop.
