Mitchell Hill Celebrates Photography By Tyler Hill with the Opening of “More Together Than Alone”
Mitchell Hill today announced an artist reception and show opening on June 24th for Tyler Hill’s “More Together Than Alone,” which will feature 17 new photographs from cities Hill found himself in during the crazy year that was 2020. The event will be held on Thursday, June 17th from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Hill was born in Austin, TX. He studied in Texas, before moving to Charleston to enroll at the Art Institute. Garning degrees in business administration and graphic design, he created his own private label of furniture and lighting set to launch this year, Transparent. He is also a published author (The Shortest Day, a book about his families trips to Normandy and the history that accompanies them).
The photographs in “More Together Than Alone” aim at showcasing the past year and the changes we have all faced.
“I wanted to show the world as I saw it through my eyes, in the absence of human interaction, and often found it therapeutic taking long walks with my camera to spend hours at a time outside, without a soul in sight,” Tyler Hill said.
He said his desire with these images is to bring everyone together through exploration of his ever-changing surroundings. Hill created distinct and interesting photographs that established the world now as we know it. He ventured to urban centers like New Orleans, Charleston, New York City and Washington DC. Hill’s photographs express personal, emotionally charged scenes that showcase what it meant to be in a uninhabited, pandemic filled world.
