Update: Ravenel Bridge Has Reopened

UPDATE: 2:15 pm – The Ravenel Bridge is in the process of reopening. The package was deemed safe by a bomb squad.

The Ravenel Bridge is currently closed in both directions due to a suspicious package found at the base of the bridge on the Mount Pleasant side – this according to the Charleston and Mount Pleasant Police Departments.

Motorists are asked to find alternate routes until further notice.

Updates will be provided when they are available.
