Gradual Lean to Give First Public Performance in 5 years
Press Release
Gradual Lean has been a band of friends for over 20 years. From the days of late night sessions at Mezzane above Sermet’s on King Street, to Grammy-winning, world touring recording artists, the members of Gradual Lean have done a lot on their own. But when they come together, something magical always seems to happen. That magic has been rare over the past decade, with only one performance at the now defunct Mezz.
Touring, recording, and performing with multiple projects has made it difficult for everyone to be in the same place at the same time. However, 2020 brought about many changes, including the realization that this musical family still needs to make time for communion, and that’s exactly what will happen on Tuesday, July 27th at Tobin’s Market.
Tobin’s Market rose to prominence as a formidable music venue during the pandemic as the only spot downtown with an outdoor deck, food, drinks and great, regular live music.
Guitarist Lee Barbour says of the collaboration, “Gradual Lean and Tobin’s are a perfect fit…the Tobin’s crew are musicians as well and understand how to take care of the artists and the audience. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones, and as always, making the music for the moment that is the signature of Gradual Lean.”
Gradual Lean is:
- Lee Barbour – guitar
- Quentin Baxter – drums
- Kevin Hamilton – bass
- Charlton Singleton – trumpet
Tobin’s Market is located at 197 Jackson Street. Gradual Lean will play two sets from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door.
