The Charleston RiverDogs enter the week with the best record in the Low-A East and have a lead of 16.0 games in the South Division standings.  The club is also tied for the second-most wins in Minor League Baseball.  If the on-field performance isn’t enough reason to head to The Joe this week, surely the promotions and theme nights scheduled for the homestand will make a visit worthwhile.

The Augusta GreenJackets visit the Holy City for the third time in the last month to battle the first-place RiverDogs Tuesday-Sunday.   On Tuesday, the Charleston Police Department will be at The Joe for National Night Out. Wednesday features discounted Fore Dollar (see what we did there) tickets on Golf Night along with Friends of the Muni and on Saturday, the RiverDogs will hold a night dedicated to those who were married during the pandemic. Here is the full lineup:

Tuesday, August 3, 7:05 p.m.: National Night Out/Dog Day: We invite everyone in the community to join the Charleston Police Department at The Joe for National Night Out.  The night was created to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support and participation in anti-crime programs and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships. The police department will have emergency vehicles at the ballpark, a dunk tank featuring local police officers and McGruff the crime dog will be in attendance! In addition, four-legged friends are welcome every Tuesday so don’t leave them at home! Bring the pup along to the ballpark for each and every Island Coastal Lager Dog Day, when we encourage you to #TakeItEasy. Fans can also enjoy $2 hot dogs and $2 beers. Tuesday games are presented by 96.9 the Wolf.

Wednesday, August 4, 7:05 p.m.: Golf Night/Wicked Wednesday: You may have heard that our Director of Fun once starred in a film that revolved around golf. Join us for a night of first putts and golf-themed games between innings all in support of Friends of the Muni.  This week’s wicked ticket deal features Fore Dollar (get it?) grandstand and general admission tickets! Use code “FORE” to access this wicked deal. As is the case for every Wednesday at the ballpark, we will celebrate craft beer and throw in some wicked good fun thanks to Wicked Weed.

Thursday, August 5, 7:05 p.m.: Thirsty Thursday: $1 beers are available throughout The Joe on each  Budweiser Thirsty Thursday this season! That’s right, you can grab a $1 beer (or two) no matter where you are in the ballpark. Don’t forget, DJ Natty Heavy will be dropping beats on the Ashley View Pub.  Thursday games are presented by 95SX.

Friday, August 6, 7:05 p.m.: Red Shirt Friday/Post-Game Fireworks: Once again, on the final day of the work week, the RiverDogs and Boeing invite you to wear red in support of those who serve our country.  On the field, the team will participate as well, wearing special red jerseys. The night will be capped with another fireworks spectacular presented by REV Federal Credit Union set to the tune of songs from your favorite animated movies.  Friday games are presented by 103.5 WEZL.

Saturday, August 7, 6:05 p.m.: Newlywed Night/Helicopter Ball Drop: The RiverDogs will spend this day celebrating couples who have recently entered wedded bliss on Newlywed Night presented by Diamonds Direct.  Many couples that were married over the last few months missed out on a chance to enjoy a honeymoon due to the pandemic.  As a result, we’ll hold a night-long competition featuring several recently married couples with the winners receiving a Charleston staycation! Following the game, a helicopter will drop thousands of numbered bouncy balls onto the field. If a ball lands on the target at home plate, the fan with the corresponding number will walk away with $1,000.  If no ball lands on the target, the nearest ball will be worth $500.  Saturdays are presented by ABCNews4 and MyTV Charleston.

Sunday, August 8, 5:05 p.m.: Family Sunday/CCPL Reading Night:  Parking is free and kids will be invited to run the bases following the game! It’s also Charleston County Public Library’s Summer Reading Night.  We will recognize children who completed at least five hours of reading as part of CCPL’s Tails and Tales Summer Reading Program.  It’s a day sure to be filled with fun for the whole family. We’ll have activities for children throughout the game, both on the field and the video board.  This Sunday’s game is presented by Chuck-FM.
