Published

on

Bring your family and friends to Folly Beach County Park from 5 pm to 8 pm on August 19th and 26th for an “Evening in The Park” to discover all the new amenities the park has to offer. Admission to the event is free with regular Folly Beach County Park admission fee or free for Gold Pass members.

Folly Beach County Park’s Dunes House facility will be open to the public and live music will provided by Becca Smith (August 19th) and Brandon Simmons (August 26th).  Music runs from 5 pm to 8 pm. The snack bar will also be open and will sell food and beverages throughout the night. Aside from live music, Charleston County Parks will be running a kids’ program, “Sharks in the Park,” led by a park naturalist.

The Dunes House features outdoor showers, ADA accessible restrooms, changing facilities, a covered picnic area, a snack bar, and a large viewing deck. The Dunes House facility offers accessible parking and an ADA crossover to the beach.

Kids ages seven and up are invited to join Charleston County Parks on the beach to learn all about sharks. The program will use hands-on activities to explore how sharks live and why they’re important to the coastal ecosystem. Program participants may even go on a short walk to look for shark teeth! This program has a limited capacity and spots are available on a first come first served basis. To ensure your spot in one of the sessions, arrive early to register. Program registration is on-site and free with attendance and will take place on the Dunes House deck. The program will have sessions from 5:30 pm to 6 pm and 6:15 pm to 6:45 pm.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs and beach towels/blankets to use while at the event.

Your furry friends are welcome to join in on the fun as well. All pets must remain on a leash at all times. Dogs will be allowed on the beach while on a leash after 6 pm.

Beer and wine will be available for purchase onsite. Outside alcohol is prohibited and an ID is required to purchase alcohol. Alcohol is not allowed on the beach.

Folly Beach County Park is located at 1110 West Ashley Avenue. For more information on Evening in the Park, call 843-795-4386 or visit CharlestonCountyParks.com.
