Rome comes to Festival Hall

July 9 to September 26, 2021 

This exhibition showcases the work of Michelangelo on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. Using special printing techniques, visitors can see the paintings up close, reproduced to look and feel like the original works. This offers the chance to see every detail up close, with the brushwork and colours used across the 34 frescoes.

Lowcountry Jazz Festival

Friday, September 3, 2021 (Labor Day weekend)

The Lowcountry Jazz Festival over the Labor Day weekend begins at the Gaillard Center’s Grand Ballroom, with weekend entertainers including Willie Bradley, Najee and Peabo Bryson on Saturday and Lindsey Webster & Adam Hawley, Kindred Family Soul and R&R comprising Richard Eliott and Rick Braun on Sunday. Proceeds from our Festival support the mission of Closing the Gap in Health Care, Inc. and the Thaddeus John Bell, M.D. Endowment Fund.

Live at Firefly: Fall Concert Series

September 4, 2021 – October 23, 2021

Firefly Distillery is promoting a series of live music on their four-acre field, overlooking the marsh. Doors open at 6pm and each concert will run from 7pm to 10pm each weekend from September to October. All concerts are rain or shine, so come with an umbrella! The line-up includes Motown Throwdown does Jerry Garcia; On the Border: The Ultimate Eagles Tribute Band; Taylor Hicks – A Tribute To Bob Seger; Women Who Rock featuring Lauren Hall, Emily Curtis, & LaFaye and more.

Charleston Gaillard Center are delighted to welcome Gloria Gaynor in concert. Her legendary career spans five hit-filled decades as a global music icon. She has channelled that fame into support for several charities whilst she continues to write and record new music. Her concert will include works from her new album, “Testimony”.

Piccolo Spoleto Festival

May-June 2022

The Piccolo Spoleto Festival takes place across 17 days in May and June 2022 and presents more than 700 events, transforming Charleston into a city celebrating performing, literary and visual arts. The entertainment, across seven stages, starts each day at 9am and closes 11 hours later and includes a children’s festival and other special events.
