Mount Pleasant Towne Centre on Friday announced that Little Palmetto Pearl, a children’s apparel retailer, will open this fall. Local Charleston residents, Neil and Nicole O’Hara, are the proprietors of the first signature store in South Carolina and fourth overall from The Beaufort Bonnet Company, known for its hallmark bonnet that originated from a generations-old pattern just down the coast in Beaufort.

“The Beaufort Bonnet Company has always been my favorite children’s apparel brand and we are delighted to open a signature store at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre,” said Nicole O’Hara. “With three young boys, I have always loved dressing them in the timeless, classic and playful styles offered by the brand. The Beaufort Bonnet Company truly celebrates childhood and we are looking forward to bringing the quality, customer service and community this brand is known for to the Lowcountry with Little Palmetto Pearl.”

The Little Palmetto Pearl name stems from one of The Beaufort Bonnet Company’s signature colors and the local region’s abundance of palmetto trees and oysters. The store will be located at 1601 Palmetto Grande Drive, next to CycleBar and across from the Hyatt Place.

“We’re always looking to bring more local concepts to Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, and Little Palmetto Pearl reflects the luxury of lowcountry living to a tee,” said Kathleen Herrmann, Marketing Director at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. “We anticipate that the quality children’s wear store will thrive, and we can’t wait to welcome them to the property later this year. We look forward to attracting more best-in-class retail concepts to offer something for everyone on property.”

The Beaufort Bonnet Company, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky, began in 2012. The company has since expanded to being sold in approximately 400 retail locations as well as online, and comprises three other signature stores including Little Classics on Clay in Lexington, Kentucky; Merriment on Main in Virginia Beach, Virginia and Little Buckhead Blue in Atlanta. The retailer offers a mix of baby and children’s apparel, in addition to its signature bonnets and bucket hats.

Little Palmetto Pearl is the latest addition to Mount Pleasant Towne Centre’s curated tenant mix, along with local Pakistani street food restaurant, Malika, that will open later this summer. To find out more about Mount Pleasant Towne Centre, visit mtpleasanttownecentre.com.
