On Saturday, September 18th, Rep. Spencer Wetmore (D-115) is partnering with the Medical University of South Carolina to host a Family Fun Day Vaccination Drive from 10 am to 1 pm at Hope’s Treasure Chest and Lowcountry Children’s Co-op. The event is designed to boost vaccination rates in the district. Currently, South Carolina has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the nation, with just over 49% of adults fully vaccinated. Representatives from MUSC will be on-site to administer doses of the Pfizer vaccine, which is FDA approved for those age 12 or over.

“Coming together to get vaccinated is the best tool we have to fight this virus,” Rep. Wetmore said. “It’s imperative that we vaccinate as many people as possible so that we can keep our schools and businesses open.”

In addition to vaccine distribution, the event will feature family-friendly activities such as arts and crafts and kid yoga. Biscuits from Biscuit Bae will be available free of charge while supplies last and other food will be available to purchase.

Hope’s Treasure Chest and Lowcountry Co-Op is located at 1528 Folly Road.
