Help Shuck Cancer On November 21st at The Bend
Shuck Cancer, a local fundraising event hosted by American Cancer Society (ACS), returns on Sunday, November 21st at The Bend (3775 Azalea Dr, North Charleston) for its annual oyster roast celebration. Early bird tickets are now on sale for an afternoon of food, drinks, and music.
ACS invites guests to experience a true Lowcountry shindig with proceeds benefiting the Charleston Hope Lodge, a free home away from home for patients who must travel to receive the best cancer care. This year’s event features oyster dishes and other Lowcounty eats prepared by Charleston’s top restaurants including 167 Raw, Bessinger’s BBQ, Delaney Oyster House, Grace + Grit, Kaminsky’s, Leon’s, The Darling Oyster Bar, and The Longboard.
There will also be a bar stocked with beverages from Revelry Brewing Co., Edmund’s Oast, Holy City Brewing, New Realm, Kobrand Wine, Cathead Vodka, and Drink Volley. Guests will enjoy music from The Secret Ingredients and Southern Bluegrass Band and can partake in the silent auction featuring special prizes from over a dozen local businesses.
The oyster roast takes place on Sunday, November 21st from 2 pm to 6 pm. Early bird tickets are on sale now for $85. After November 1st, regular priced tickets are available for $100. Click here to purchase tickets.
About the Hope Lodge:
The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program provides a free home away from home to cancer patients who must travel to receive the best cancer care. The Charleston Hope Lodge that opened in 1970, was the first hospital hospitality house ever established in the country. Having just celebrated 50 years of “Giving Hope a Home,” the Charleston Hope Lodge was the inspiration for the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge program, and to date, 34 Hope Lodge facilities have been built with the newest location in Jacksonville, FL
