Beaufort’s Rhett House Inn Offering Pat Conroy Package for Bookworms

In honor of Pat Conroy, one of the South’s leading literary figures, The Rhett House Inn in Beaufort, is introducing a new “Prince of Scribes” package available to book starting tomorrow, October 26th (declared National Pat Conroy Day by Random House). Ideal for Conroy fans, bibliophiles, and writing enthusiasts alike, this new experience includes a private tour of the Pat Conroy Literary Center; a golf cart tour highlighting important sites from Pat’s writing life; a private reading or writing workshop with a local writer; a copy of Our Prince of Scribes: Writers Remember Pat Conroy; and accommodations at the classic Southern Inn, where Pat was known to send all of his out-of-town guests. This package will be offered year-round.

The 200-year-old Inn, located in the heart of Beaufort’s Historic District, is the perfect place to cozy up with a book this fall/winter, with fireplaces in many of its 19 rooms, moss-draped wrap-around verandas, and a lush garden. For guests that are new to Pat Conroy’s works, his entire collection of books is also available for guests to borrow during their stay.

• Private reading or writing workshop from one of the contributors from Our Prince of Scribes: Writers Remember Pat Conroy

• Copy of Our Prince of Scribes: Writers Remember Pat Conroy, a collection of essays about Pat Conroy by 67 of his fellow writers and friends

A portion of the proceeds from each package will be donated to the Pat Conroy Literary Center.
