College of Charleston Concert Choir to Present “Songs for Thanksgiving” Performance

The Department of Music at the College of Charleston School of the Arts will present a performance by the College of Charleston Concert Choir entitled “Songs for Thanksgiving.” The concert will feature choral cantata A Song of Thanksgiving by Ralph Vaughan Williams, with College of Charleston President Andrew Hsu as Narrator, and also will include Fürchte dich nicht by Johann Sebastian Bach, Exultate by Brian Galante, and Trinity Te Deum by Erik Esenvalds. 

Guest musicians will include members of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and choristers from Christ Our King-Stella Maris School, led by Suzanne Atwood.

The College of Charleston Concert Choir is composed of music majors and non-music majors and is directed by Professor Robert Taylor, who also serves as Director of Choral Activities at the College, Founding Artistic Director of the professional Taylor Festival Choir and Taylor Music Group, and Director of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra Chorus.

The concert will take place Friday, November 5th at 7:30 pm, at Second Presbyterian Church (342 Meeting St.). Admission is free, and donations will be accepted at the door. Patrons can find concert info and updates at go.cofc.edu/music-ensembles.

College of Charleston COVID safety guidelines currently require face masks indoors. Guidelines and performances are subject to change.
