New Muse Concerts to Present “Blueprint” at Multiple Charleston Venues
What do an art gallery, a library, and a brewery have in common? You can hear New Muse Concerts’ upcoming program, Blueprint, at any one of them, for free!
Lydia Chernicoff and Lenora Leggatt (violins), Kirsten Swanson (viola), and Ismar Gomes (cello) will perform music by the original rock star, Ludwig van Beethoven, and living composer, Caroline Shaw.
Every listener hears something different in a piece of music, and the way we hear a piece changes over time. Blueprint shows us how composer Caroline Shaw hears Beethoven. Written hundreds of years after the quartet that inspired it, Blueprint explores the classicism, the modernity, and the timeless essence of Beethoven’s music.
Come join us for both string quartets, and hear for yourself how one influences the way you hear the other. If you don’t know her work already, Caroline Shaw is a great discovery — and Ludwig van Beethoven may never sound the same.
