North Charleston Fire Department is Hiring Firefighters
The North Charleston Fire Department is hiring firefighters and no prior experience is required. Those who already have firefighter and emergency medical technician certification are eligible for a higher starting salary.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
– at least 18 years old
– high school diploma or G.E.D.
– valid driver’s license
– pass a background check
– pass a drug screening
– pass a medical physical
Applications will be accepted through November 8, 2021. The firefighter testing process begins November 29, 2021.
The firefighter testing process includes a National Firefighter Selection Test, job-related physical ability test (JRPAT), and interview. The National Firefighter Selection Test is an entry-level basic skills test that measures three basic skills: reading comprehension, mathematics and listening comprehension. The National Firefighter Selection Test has a study guide and practice test available online for purchase at www.ApplyToServe.com/Study.
