Face Coverings Optional Inside Most Charleston County Government Buildings, Including Libraries, If Fully Vaccinated
Beginning Monday, November 22nd, fully vaccinated employees and residents are no longer required to wear face coverings inside most Charleston County Government buildings and libraries. Although not required, face coverings are still strongly encouraged.
This change does not apply to the Judicial Center or Magistrate Courts, which fall under the order from Chief Justice Donald Beatty mandating face coverings in county and municipal courthouses. Temperature checks are also required to enter courtrooms.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends wearing a mask indoors if you have had close contact with someone who has COVID-19, regardless of vaccination status. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, the CDC recommends testing and staying home.
Charleston County Government leaders will continue to monitor COVID-19 case numbers and make changes should the need arise. Citizens are encouraged to continue conducting business virtually when possible and utilize their on-line service portal at: https://www.charlestoncounty.org/clickandgo.php.
