Public Meeting for Better Northbridge Project
Charleston County Public Works invites the public to learn more about the Better North Bridge project at a public information meeting on Wednesday, December 15th, from 4 pm to 7 pm at The Lowcountry Food Bank located at 2864 Azalea Dr., in North Charleston. The meeting will also be available online from December 15th, 2021 to January 29th, 2022.
The purpose of the public meeting is to offer information on the project’s development process, outline the criteria used to evaluate the proposed alternatives, gather public comments, and provide next steps. Persons with disabilities or limited internet access who may require special accommodations should contact Project Manager Sheila Sororian at (843) 202-7624.
Charleston County will accept public comments until January 29, 2022. Residents can submit comments via the project website through the public information meeting page, or by emailing the project team at roads@charlestoncounty.org.

Charleston County is looking at various alternatives to improve bicycle and pedestrian safety and connectivity between North Charleston and West Ashley. The proposed project consists of constructing a new bicycle and pedestrian bridge over the Ashley River and a new shared-use path connecting the bridge to Azalea Drive in North Charleston.
