Azalea Drive Sidewalk Project Update

Published

on

Beginning December 13th, 2021, Charleston County Public Works will begin construction of a new sidewalk along Azalea Drive in North Charleston. Construction will be done during the day and is expected to last approximately four to five months.

There will be brief lane closures and potential brief road closures during the duration of the project. Any changes to traffic patterns will be clearly marked by cones or signs. All work is weather dependent.

The project involves the installation of a five-foot-wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of Azalea Drive. The new sidewalk will begin at the intersection of Azalea Drive and Cosgrove Avenue and continue east to the Lowcountry Food Bank. Construction will also include drainage improvements within the project area. The Azalea Drive Sidewalk project is funded 2004 Transportation Sales Tax Program.

Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the Public Works Department at 843-202-7600 or email pwcustomerservice@charlestoncounty.org.
