Charleston-filmed “Outer Banks” Returning for Third Season
The hit Netflix series Outer Banks, which filmed most of its first two seasons throughout the Charleston area, has officially been renewed for a third season. The announcement was made last week and was covered locally by The Post & Courier.
Outer Banks is an action-adventure mystery that follows a tight-knit group of local teens in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The town features a stark social divide between wealthy residents and the working-class locals (who have the nicknames “Kooks” and “Pogues,” respectively). The show follows a group of “Pogue” teenagers who are determined to find out what happened to the missing father of the group’s leader, John B.
The show stars Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Drew Starkey, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, and Charles Esten.
So far there is no word on whether the series will return to the Charleston area for filming.
