You’ve heard it said, ‘it’s the most wonderful time of the year’. There is something really magical about Christmas and the whole holiday season. While we seldom have snow at Christmas time in Charleston or the Carolinas there is one thing we can count on each and every year in the low country, and that is being wonderfully entertained by Brad and Jennifer Moranz, as they host the Charleston Christmas Special at the Charleston Music Hall Thursday Dec 16th through Thursday Dec 23rd.
After nearly two years under the pandemic dark cloud, the Charleston Christmas Special is a welcome return to normalcy and the ideal way to bring in the most special Christian holiday on the calendar. Young and old alike know that the yuletide holidays do not begin without our annual Christmas present from Brad and Jennifer. The husband-and-wife team have been delighting audiences over several weekends in December for over 25 years. Their passion and commitment to ‘Vegas’ and ‘New York City ‘style performances are unparalleled.
Seeing one of their two-hour shows is equivalent to catching a performance at Radio City Music Hall or any of the renowned theatres in Branson or Pigeon Forge. Brad & Jen’s holiday shows are a throwback to a simpler time when great Christmas specials from Andy Williams and Bob Hope filled network television time slots.
The Moranz’ 2021 Christmas Special is nothing less than spectacular. Singing, dancing, music, and comedy make for fine family entertainment. As they always do Brad and Jen have assembled several of the best entertainers working today, some living right here in town while others have come from across the country. The combined talent, experience and enthusiasm from the singers and dancers, including several spirited teenagers provide a holiday show that appeals to all ages.
Seniors and baby boomers enjoy the Christmas Special because it takes them back simpler times when the world didn’t move at a frantic pace, and younger audience members embrace the holiday show because it is new to them. The Charleston Christmas Special is a show you can bring grandma and your six-year-old to. It’s G-Rated family fun that embodies the true meaning of Christmas alongside treasured holiday favorites.
The Charleston Christmas Special has plenty of references to the 12 Days of Christmas. The show has 12 costume changes, 11 people working behind the scenes, 10 musicians playing, nine dancers dancing, eight singers singing, seven songs about our savior, six comedy skits, five traditional holiday classics, 4 Christmas trees on stage, three guitar solos, two incredible hosts (Brad & Jenny), and one overall feel-good Christmas spirit had by all.
In the 21st century where we live by in the moment, the Charleston Christmas Special is a welcome relief, and one family and friends will say years down the road ‘remember when?’. With eight shows scheduled including matinee shows on Saturday and Sunday the Charleston Christmas Special is the perfect holiday entertainment to get you in the mood for the holiday season, and a great lead into Christmas day. It’s time to get back out there, so get tickets for mom and dad, or maybe that scrooge and grinch in your family and help them experience the true meaning of Christmas.
