Julia Deckman Studio Announces First Exhibitions of 2022
Julia Deckman Studio (JDS) is hosting guest artists for public exhibitions throughout the 2022 calendar year. JDS aims to support emerging and established contemporary artists through these exhibition opportunities. Shows are kicked off by an opening event hosted by JDS and Stono Bottle Shop, free for the public to attend and enjoy.
As an artist, every chance at exhibition helps hone creative direction and skills. JDS hopes that artists will use this space as an opportunity to experiment, lean into the ideas they find most exciting, curate these thoughts into a cohesive show, and ultimately translate them for public viewing.
Their winter/spring opening night schedule is as follows:
- Friday, January 14th 5 pm to 8 pm – “Ruby Hazzard’s Slice-O-Life” (sponsored by the Charleston Arts Festival)
- Saturday, February 12th 4 pm to 6:30 pm – “Roadside Memorial,” a show by Greenville artist Liz Rundorff Smith
- Friday, March 18th 5 pm to 8 pm – “Pearls,” a film and portrait exhibition by Chynna Chan for Women’s History Month
