Cupid’s Undie Run Participants Show Off Their Charitable Spirit (and More) for a Good Cause

The Children’s Tumor Foundation (CTF) will next month host its annual Cupid’s Undie Run in 38 cities across the United States to raise awareness of the genetic disorder neurofibromatosis (NF) and generate funds to support NF research.  The Charleston event will take place on February 19th, from noon until 4 pm, at Loggerhead’s Beach Grill (123 W Ashley Ave, Folly Beach).

Thousands of cheeky cherubs will strip down to their underwear, put on fun costumes or tutus, and bring out their bedroom best as they participate in the charity fun run. Participants will warm-up with a pre-run party while dancing to music provided by a live DJ and enjoying adult beverages. After the one-mile(ish) run, participants continue the party as they celebrate the  individuals and teams that fundraised the most money for NF research or wore the best costumes.

While this year’s event is scheduled to be in-person, organizers will continue to monitor local, state, and CDC guidelines and will adjust the event as needed to ensure the health and safety of participants and the broader community.

Cupid’s Undie Run is a fundraising event with 100% of the net proceeds supporting the mission of the Children’s Tumor Foundation, the world’s leader in NF research. The Children’s Tumor Foundation mission of driving research, expanding knowledge, and advancing care for the NF  community fosters a shared vision of one day ending NF.

NF is a group of genetic disorders that cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body, and can lead to blindness, deafness, bone abnormalities, disfigurement, learning disabilities,  disabling pain, and cancer. Currently there is no cure for NF. The disorder affects one in every 3,000 births across all populations equally, and worldwide. An estimated 2.5 million people currently live with NF disorders.

Since 2010, Cupid’s Undie Run has grown from a single event in Washington, DC with a few hundred runners to a national fundraising phenomenon with tens of thousands of participants across the country.
