Reading Partners SC to host Community Information Sessions to Address Critical Need for Virtual Volunteers
Reading Partners SC will host a series of virtual information sessions for community members to learn how they can help elementary students gain critical reading skills and combat disrupted learning caused by the pandemic. Attendees will learn more about the Reading Partners program, virtual volunteer opportunities, and how to sign up as a volunteer tutor.
As COVID cases rise, many people are hesitant to be out volunteering in the community. The good news is that Reading Partners has a brand new online volunteer program where community volunteers can make a huge impact on a student’s life, all from the comfort of their own homes or offices. The structured, evidence-based curriculum can be easily delivered to elementary students by community volunteers with no teaching experience required.
These weekly literacy lessons are not only fun to deliver, but they also make a huge impact in getting a student on the right reading level. Community members will learn more about Reading Partners and how they can help by committing to just an hour a week to ensure that all students have the literacy skills necessary to be successful in school and beyond. Sessions are free and open to the public.
