Lowcountry Oyster Festival Announces Musical Acts and Beneficiaries
The Charleston Restaurant Foundation (CRF) today announced that the Bluestone Ramblers, a traditional bluegrass ensemble based in Charleston, and Andrew Beam, a country music artist from North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, as this year’s entertainment for the 38th annual Lowcountry Oyster Festival, happening February 6th at Boone Hall.
“We are thrilled to be hosting the Lowcountry Oyster Festival yet again and anticipate that this year will be better than ever, with excellent musical acts, elevated food offerings and more surprises in store,” said Charleston Restaurant Foundation President, Jonathan Kish. “The Charleston Restaurant Foundation is looking forward to welcoming friends, family, visitors and locals to this cherished event.”
Featuring over 60,000 pounds of oysters, highlights of this event include the legendary oyster shucking and oyster eating contests, wine and beer, and a variety of food options from local restaurants and food trucks. Kids can enjoy the Pluff-a-Pallooza Children’s Area, offering activities such as bubble therapy, a climbing wall, a “noisy oyster percussion” play area, cookie decorating with “pluff-mudd” frosting, sweetgrass basket weaving, an egg toss, juggling with Deena-Jungleena, stilt performers, and much more.
The Lowcountry Oyster Festival is a charity fundraiser and this year’s beneficiaries include the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center, the Ronald McDonald House of Charleston, Shriners Hospitals for Children, Coastal Conservation Association, College of Charleston, The Culinary Institute of Charleston, and Toad Fish.

The festival is a rain or shine event. No pets, coolers or outside food and beverages will be allowed. Oyster knives and gloves will be available for purchase. This is a cash free event. Boone Hall Plantation is located at 1235 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant. There is one entrance off Hwy 17 and a few options off Longpoint Road.
