The Charleston Place Blooms for Valentine’s Day
The Charleston Place, a landmark hotel in Charleston’s historic district, is in full bloom this month to celebrate Valentine’s Day. From over-the-top floral installations to a special “Galentine’s” day shopping event, The Charleston Place is finding unique ways to spread love and captivate the hearts and imaginations of its guests, team members, and locals.
Stepping into the grand lobby this month, guests and passers-by will literally stop and the smell the roses as they see the show-stopping display set underneath the sparkling Venetian glass chandelier. Starting today and continuing through February 21, a limited-edition pink Nissan Figaro (right) affectionately known as The Pink Figgy, will be situated in the center of the grand staircase, overflowing with florals from local floral design company Tupelo Honey Flower Shop & Co. Continuing throughout the hotel’s public spaces, visitors will witness more dazzling floral displays flowing from the fountains, out of antique British-style mailboxes situated at the hotel’s entrances, and around the columns that adorn the hallways. Additionally, from February 11-14, locals and guests will be able to stop by the hotel’s new custom flower cart in the Market Street courtyard to peruse and purchase stunning bouquets, all designed by floral partner Tupelo Honey Flower Shop.
Those who prefer homemade valentines to store-bought should pay a visit to “Cupid’s Post” station in the lobby, open daily from 8am-8pm February 1-14. The station will be stocked full of elegant papers, journals, chocolates and other materials designed to make an eye-catching masterpiece. Everyone will have the opportunity to design a valentine for someone special, or for a resident of the Canterbury House, a non-profit senior living community located just steps from the hotel. On Valentine’s Day, all valentines created for the Canterbury House residents will be hand-delivered by team members at The Charleston Place.
Ideal for couples and “Galentines,” The Charleston Place is hosting a special “Baubles & Brunch” event at The Palmetto Café on February 13 from 11am-2pm in conjunction with Croghan’s Jewel Box, a 100-year-old local family-owned jewelry store specializing in fine jewelry and engagement rings. Attendees can savor Champagne and brunch bites while shopping the treasure trove of baubles from Charleston’s most celebrated jeweler. Reservations are encouraged.
