Two Local Restaurants Partner on Oyster Roast to Benefit Friends of Joseph Floyd Manor
The Darling Oyster Bar and Edmunds Oast Brewing Co. are holding a fundraiser for the Friends of Joseph Floyd Manor (FoJFM) on Saturday, February 12th from noon to 4 pm at Edmunds Oast Brewing Co. (1505 King Street).
FoJFM is a grassroots cause that provides advocacy, resources, and support to the residents of JFM. The goal and mission are to advocate with the residents to create safe and healthy housing.
The oyster roast will sell $20 buckets of oysters and will donate a portion of the beer sales for that day to FoJFM. There will also be a silent auction where attendees can bid on local items. Guests are encouraged to bring their own shuckers.

FoJFM currently has roughly 140 residents whose needs vary from groceries to hygiene items to larger scale items like mattresses and furniture. Some residents are transitioning out of homelessness and so FoJFM helps them with a care package of new bedding and other household items to help ease the process of starting over. Financial resources and in-kind donations are among the many tools that we employ, but FoJFM also works directly with other non-profits, community partners, government agencies, and donors to address the needs of the residents we serve.
