Islander 71 Fish House and Deck Bar Coming to Isle of Palms in Spring 2022

Long-time residents of Isle of Palms, Dave and Chrissy Lorenz (owners of Mex 1 Coastal Cantina), and Jon Bushnell today announced the opening of their new restaurant concept, Islander 71 Fish House and Deck Bar. The business, which is eyeing a late spring opening, says they will have a menu featuring locally-caught seafood, southern favorites, classic cocktails, and cold beer.

Islander 71 Fish House and Deck Bar will be taking over the space that formerly housed Morgan Creek Grill (80 41st Ave.), which permanently closed in 2020. The owners say the building will be renovated and reimagined to feature better views of the water, expanding seating, and plenty of outdoor deck space.

“We saw this as a gathering place for the Island and we knew we had to create a family-friendly spot for patrons to enjoy everything that Isle of Palms has to offer.” says co-owner Dave Lorenz. “We live on the island and enjoy being able to ride our bikes or golf carts to local restaurants, so we knew we had to do it right.”
