Press Release

SeamonWhiteside (SW+), a full-service land design firm with offices throughout the Carolinas, announced its partnership with New Realm Brewing Co. to develop its newest brewery location in downtown Greenville, SC. The brewery will occupy the Old Cigar Warehouse and will be their largest location. The project is currently in the design process and will break ground this year.

The brewery will offer an extensive and family-friendly outdoor space in the West End Historic District. With features including several fire pits, outdoor bathrooms, an outdoor bar, and heating lamps, the brewery aims to attract locals and visitors for year-round enjoyment. SeamonWhiteside will prioritize preserving the current features of the historic Old Cigar Warehouse while incorporating new land design elements to create a venue that everyone will enjoy.

“Our biggest goal in the execution of this project is making a space that provides a multifunctional community spot. This space will have something for everyone, from gourmet food to authentic brewing. We are excited for the people it will bring together,” says Whit Dawson, Landscape Architecture Project Manager at SeamonWhiteside. “It is tremendously important to preserve the integrity of the Old Cigar Warehouse because of its impact on Greenville’s history and culture. The project is minutes away from our office and is near and dear to our hearts. This will not be your average brewery, and we are excited to create something that the whole city is proud of.”

SeamonWhiteside will work closely with architecture and design firm McMillan Pazdan Smith on this project. “We are thrilled to work on such a collaborative project with McMillan Pazdan Smith to bring the Old Cigar Warehouse back to life as a thriving brewery,” says Charlie Greer, Civil Engineering Project Manager at SeamonWhiteside. “We can’t wait to get started and bring something of tremendous value to this city that residents will enjoy for many years to come!”
