Charleston County Council Announces Vacancies on the Newly Formed Housing Steering Committee
Applications will be accepted through Thursday, March 3, 2022.
The Charleston County Housing Steering Committee was established by County Ordinance number 2193. This thirteen-member board appointed by Charleston County Council will provide technical insight and expertise on housing needs, possible strategies, and funding recommendations, as well as provide high-level review and feedback on presentations made by Charleston County’s Housing Consultant. The board shall consist of the following:
- One representative from the Housing Development Industry
- One representative from the Housing Finance Industry
- One representative from Housing Finance and/or Housing Development Industry
- Two representatives from the Community Development Industry
- One representative from the Property Management Industry
- One representative from the Social Services Industry
- One representative from the Community Organizing Industry
- One representative from the Homeless Services Industry
- One representative from the Policy & Advocacy Industry
- One representative from the Education/School District Industry
- One representative from the Workforce Development Industry
- One representative from the Transportation Industry
Applications will be considered by Charleston County Council’s Finance Committee on March 10, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. Charleston County Council will vote on the Finance Committee’s recommendations on March 15, 2022, at 6:30 p.m.
Charleston County Council encourages citizens of Charleston County who are willing to volunteer to serve on this board to submit an application for appointment.
