Rep. Nancy Mace Issues Statement on Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine
“I’m praying for the innocent people of Ukraine who are defending themselves from President Vladimir Putin’s foolish and reprehensible decision to launch a renewed invasion of their country.
President Biden said he could go ‘toe to toe’ with Putin but instead he has chosen to play footsie – Biden slow-walked lethal aid to Ukraine, waived sanctions on Nord Stream 2, and chose toothless sanctions against a few rich Russians. Biden’s weakness helped lead to this crisis.
We can only halt the march to war if we act in unison with allies and isolate Russia’s oil and gas economy. The U.S. has the ability to ramp up oil production and could supplement all of Europe’s oil. Under the Biden Administration, Russia now supplies 7 percent of our crude oil imports. Supporting our allies in Europe and countering Putin’s aggression means regaining our energy independence. China is watching.”

Cmon. Be a patriot, not a partisan.

Saddened by Rep.Mace’s thoughtless, perfunctory political comment. We are acting in concert with our allies and materially and politically supporting the people and democratically elected leaders. The only thing that we are not doing is sending soldiers into Ukraine.
