Charleston County Council Announces Vacancies on Boards and Commissions

Charleston County Council will accept applications through Monday, March 21, 2022 for the following vacancies on boards and commissions: 

  • Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District Advisory Board
    • 4 vacancies for residents that live in unincorporated Charleston County and serviced by the Awendaw-McClellanville Consolidated Fire District
  • Firemen’s Insurance and Inspection Fund (1% Commission)
    • 3 vacancies for residents of the St. Andrews Public Service District
    • 2 vacancies for residents of the Awendaw-McClellanville Fire District
    • 2 vacancies for residents of the James Island PSD
    • 1 vacancy for St. John’s Fire District
  • Community Development Advisory Board
    • 1 vacancy representing the Financial sector
    • 1 vacancy representing the Legal sector
  • Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals
    • 1 vacancy for a Mechanical Engineer
    • 1 vacancy for a Plumbing Contractor
    • 1 vacancy for a Structural Engineer
  • St. Paul’s Fire District
    • 1 vacancy for residents serviced by the St. Paul’s Fire District residing in Meggett
  • Accommodations Tax Advisory Committee
    • 2 vacancies for a representative of the lodging industry whose business is located in Charleston County
    • 2 vacancies for a representative of the hospitality whose business is located in Charleston County
    • 1 vacancy for a representative of cultural organization located in Charleston County
    • 1 vacancy for a representative who resides in unincorporated Charleston County West of the Ashley (to include areas in West Ashley, James Island, Johns Island, Wadmalaw Island, Hollywood, Ravenel, St. Paul’s areas, Edisto Island)

Applications will be considered by Charleston County Council’s Finance Committee on March 31st, 2022 at 5 pm. Charleston County Council will vote on the Finance Committee’s recommendations on April 5th, 2022 at 6:30 pm.
