Analysis: South Carolina Ranks 3rd Among States With the Worst Drivers
A new report by Car Insurance Comparison found that South Carolina ranks 3rd among states with the worst drivers. The website says they analyzed various data sources from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association (NHTSA), including CrashStats and Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) to create the list.
Car Insurance Comparison then ranked states by several metrics including fatality, drunk driving, and careless driving rates to find the most dangerous states featuring the worst drivers. A quick look at what they found:
South Carolina and Montana tied for 3rd among the states with the worst driver
South Carolina’s worst category was death rate
The car accident death rate in South Carolina was 1.73, the worst out of all 50 states.
Texas and New Mexico tied as the states with the worst drivers.
