Congressional Medal of Honor Society Announces Schedule of Events for March 25th at Patriots Point
Tickets are now on sale for a special one-day-only Medal of Honor Storytelling Tours on National Medal of Honor Day (March 25th) at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum that will give participants a view into the service of some of our nation’s greatest heroes—Medal of Honor Recipients.
Attendees can:
- Learn the stories attached to the planes Medal of Honor Recipient’s flew, the ships that commemorate them, and the places that echo in history
- Climb into a B-25 bomber like the one James Doolittle flew over Tokyo
- Discover the stories of Edward “Butch” O’Hare, Bartlett Laffey, and more
- Finish off your tour with the Recipients’ Medal of Honor Museum on the hangar deck of the USS Yorktown
- Take home tales of inspiration and sacrifice, in addition to a complimentary copy of the book Choosing Courage: Inspiring True Stories of What it Means to be a Hero by Peter Collier
The schedule of events also includes:
- Wreath-laying off USS Yorktown
- A flyover from Joint Base Charleston
- Lunch & Learn with students and Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s Character Development Program
This tour is presented in coordination with the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, the membership organization of the 66 living Medal of Honor Recipients, headquartered aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point.
Tours will take place on Friday, March 25th at 10 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, and 3 pm and cost $20 in addition to the general admission ticket. Choose the “buy tickets” and “enhance your experience” on the Patriots Point website.
