The Inaugural Firefly On The Bayou Event to Feature Crawfish, Cajun Music, and More

Firefly Distillery will host its inaugural Firefly On The Bayou event on Sunday, April 3rd, 2022 at 12 pm. The New Orleans themed event will feature a crawfish boil, live music from both The Battery Brass Band and the New Breed Brass Band. Tickets are available for purchase now.

Firefly Distillery co-owner Scott Newitt has direct ties to Louisiana culture and traditions. Growing up on the Bayou, Newitt enjoys bringing people together with good music, drinks, and fresh food. Transporting freshly caught crawfish straight from Louisiana, Firefly will celebrate Cajun culture in the Lowcountry.

“Crawfish boils were a part of my childhood and it’s such a fond memory,” said Scott Newitt, co-owner of Firefly Distillery. “We hosted a smaller version of this event back when we first opened for select attendees, but it’s such a fun experience we wanted to invite more people to join us year after year.”

Cooking the crawfish for Firefly On The Bayou is 4th generation Louisiana native and friend of Scott Newitt, Garrett St. Germaine. Using his old family recipe, St. Germaine sources his crawfish from the Pierre Part Store. Founded by his ancestors, the Pierre Part Store opened in 1911 in a modest building, mostly accessible by boat. Today, the Pierre Part store has grown into a new, 36,000 square foot building and is still family owned and operated.

In addition to Louisiana crawfish, visitors can purchase fare from local food trucks. Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 day-of and include entry to the event. Children under 10 are free, but children 10+ require a ticket.

Visitors can bring their own chairs and blankets to spread out on the field, but pets, coolers, tents, and outside food and drink are not allowed.

Parking is limited onsite, so Uber and Lyft are highly encouraged. The distillery asks that all guests please be respectful of neighboring businesses.
