Ukrainian Native to Host Oyster Roast and Live Music Benefit in Mt. Pleasant for Ukrainians Impacted by the War
On Saturday, April 16th, an Oyster Roast and Live Music Benefit for Ukrainians impacted by the war will be held at the Wando River Grill in Mt. Pleasant. The event runs from noon until 5 pm.
This grassroots benefit will be hosted by Yuliya Lowe, who was born and raised in Mariupol, Ukraine, and her husband, Rob. Yuliya has been living in Charleston since 2011. ALL of the proceeds (minus taxes and costs to put on the benefit) will go directly to the couple’s Ukrainian friends and family impacted by the war. The proceeds will be sent via Venmo/PayPal or some other sort of direct digital transfer.
“We also hope that when Ukraine is able to emerge from this, that we will have enough money to be able to contribute to the reconstruction of homes/buildings/schools that were bombed out in Mariupol and Kiev,” the Lowes said.
The benefit event includes:
- All-You-Can-Eat Oysters from 12 pm to 3 p (with options for non oyster eaters)
- Live music 12 pm to 5 pm
- The Hibachi Heroes, Lamar Hood of Holy City Outlaws, Silversel, and Short Division
- Drink specials
