Bill Sharpe to Speak at Friends of the Berkeley County Library Annual Meeting

Retired news anchor Bill Sharpe will be the guest speaker at the Friends of the Berkeley County Library Annual Membership Meeting. The meeting will be held on Saturday, April 23rd at 2 pm in the assembly room of the County Office Building, located at 1003 Highway 52, next to the Moncks Corner Library.  

Sharpe joined the Live 5 News team in 1973 at the age of 22 and worked there for 48 years. He covered many stories including Hurricane Hugo and the shooting death of nine members of the Emanual AME church. Over the years he received numerous awards and in 2017, Bill and long-time co-anchor, Debi Chard received the Masters Award from the South Carolina Broadcasters Association. Sharpe was also named Anchor of the Year by the SCBA in August 2021.

The meeting is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, call 843-572-1376.
