Rep. JA Moore Condemns Carolina Panthers Owner for “Lack of Transparency” Surrounding Rock Hill Practice Facility Project
Following reports that Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper has abandoned construction of a new practice facility in York County, State Representative JA Moore today condemned the move.
“I voted no on the bill that gave tax incentives to fund this project because I was concerned something like this would happen,” Rep. Moore said. “We need to invest in smart economic development that benefits taxpayers and promotes economic growth, not make billionaires wallet’s bigger.”
These reports come as the project was halted last month as York County and Tepper renegotiated a deal to fund the project. According to Tepper, the county missed a payment earlier this year. Officials have been waiting for weeks to hear from Tepper about the state of the project.
