Press Release

Drawing inspiration from the coast of South Carolina, Sweetgrass and Sand Dollars will open its first brick-and-mortar store at the Lowcountry’s premier shopping destination, Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. Located at 1305 Theater Drive, the 702-square-foot boutique will include both upscale and everyday fashion for women of all ages. Founded by Mount Pleasant native Caroline Yodice, the boutique will open its doors on Sunday, May 1st, with grand opening celebrations featuring exclusive discounts, sips and bites and the best in women’s fashion.

“Sweetgrass and Sand Dollars represents Mount Pleasant through-and-through, from its founder to the coastal and colorful clothing and accessories they offer,” said Kathleen Herrmann, Marketing Director at Mount Pleasant Towne Centre. “We are thrilled to welcome another innovative entrepreneur to our mix of both local and nationally known, best-in-class brands.”

Founded by Yodice in November 2021, Sweetgrass and Sand Dollars first opened as an online retail store, offering a wide range of apparel and accessories. At its first physical store, the Towne Centre location will offer similar products to the online boutique, including pieces from brands like THML Clothing, Entro Clothing, Karlie Clothing and Accessories, XIX Palms and more. Sweetgrass and Sand Dollars will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm and Sundays from 1 pm to 5 pm.

“Growing up, I would ride my bike to the Towne Centre and explore the different restaurants and shops, along with the exciting community events that the Centre hosted year-round,” said Yodice. “It’s always been my dream to open my own boutique, and it feels surreal to open Sweetgrass and Sand Dollars right here in my hometown. I can’t wait to open our doors to the community and offer a variety of options that everyone will love, no matter your age, size or style.”

In addition to Sweetgrass and Sand Dollars, Mount Pleasant Towne Centre has welcomed a number of new tenants to the lifestyle center. Most recently Little Palmetto Pearl, A Beaufort Bonnet Company Signature Store, and Malika, a Pakistani street food restaurant, opened their doors at the Centre, with more exciting announcements on tap.
