Neighbors Together Hosts WOW Event to Honor Women

As Mother’s Day is quickly approaches, local nonprofit Neighbors Together is planning a special day in honor of everything that women do to make life better for those around them. On April 30th, the community is invited to join the organization for their WOW (Wellness Outreach for Women) event. Women will be offered health and wellness opportunities as well as car maintenance and more. 

The event will run from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm on April 30th at 2105 Cosgrove Avenue in North Charleston.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS CHECKS

Neighbors Together is partnering with the Shifa Clinic to offer free wellness checks for women.

“We are going to present health and wellness to the ladies in this community,” said Neighbors Together Community Engagement Coordinator Leola McFadden. “We want women to be healthy.”

The health clinic is open to everyone, not just women.

FREE CAR CARE CLINIC

The event will also offer a free car care clinic where volunteers will check tires, hoses, engines, and oil levels. Coupons for oil changes are also being offered by area service garages. Participants must schedule a car appointment ahead of time by calling (843) 747-1788.

“If our volunteers find something they believe needs to be checked further, women will be told about it,” said Neighbors Together Program Director Suzanne Young. “They know they can trust the information they’re being given.”
