Holy City Hospitality Revives Familiar Name for Charleston’s “Smallest Bar”

Published

on

Holy City Hospitality today announced they will open Captain Harry’s Blue Marlin Bar on Thursday, May 5th at 4 pm. The group said the new establishment is Charleston’s Smallest Bar as it has only four barstools inside a cozy space on Huston Alley. Captain Harry’s can be found between 39 Rue de Jean and Coast Bar & Grill.

In addition to the four seats inside, the bar will also have tables outside on the Alley. The business will offer a selection of canned beers, cocktails, and frozen drinks. Their food menu will be operated out of Coast, and will feature items like fried shrimp, bacon-wrapped scallops, and Coast Crab Dip.

If the name Captain Harry’s Blue Marlin Bar sounds familiar to you, that’s because it has a long history in Charleston. Originally located on Cumberland Street in the late 70s, it moved to the current home of Coast Bar & Grill on John Street in the late 90s.

The bar’s opening evening will include live music from Ronnie Johnson.
