Islander 71 Announces Opening Date
Islander 71, a new Isle of Palms restaurant that was first announced in February, has announced they will officially open their doors to patrons on Saturday, May 14th, 2022.
The restaurant’s island-inspired menu was created by Executive Chef Michael Johnson with an emphasis on the fresh seafood the Lowcountry is known for. Guests can expect dishes like various Fry Platters, Shrimp & Grits, and ‘Bettie Jane’s’ Crab Cakes, just to name a few.
Islander 71 Fish House and Deck Bar took over the space that formerly housed Morgan Creek Grill (80 41st Ave.), which permanently closed in 2020. The new owners, who are long-time residents of Isle of Palms, say the building has been renovated and reimagined to feature better views of the water, expanding seating, and plenty of outdoor deck space. The owners are Dave and Chrissy Lorenz (owners of Mex 1 Coastal Cantina), and Jon Bushnell.
Islander 71 is located at 80 41st Avenue, Isle of Palms.
