The creative team behind New York’s The Dead Rabbit, “The World’s Most Awarded Pub,” is bringing a new concept to King Street. Hazel and Apple, a “community tavern,” is expected to take over the space currently occupied by Bonny’s Hideaway at 549 King Street.

According to its website, Hazel and Apple will have two separate bars – the front bar is The Hazel, while the back bar is The Apple. The latter of which will open into an outdoor patio space. The website says the new business will offer “an authentic Irish pub ambiance, serving excellent pub grub plus local Charleston and South Carolina specialties.” The décor will include hazelwood and the green and red colors of the apple – plus four apple trees on the patio area.

The tavern is expected to open early next year.

You can keep up with Hazel and Apple’s progress on their website, their Facebook page, and their Instagram account.
