Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue to Play the Charleston Music Hall in August

Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will perform at the Charleston Music Hall on Monday, August 22nd at 7:30 pm. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, May 20th at 10 am.

Troy Andrews (aka Trombone Shorty) is a producer and Grammy Award-winning musician from New Orleans who grew up in the famed Tremé neighborhood. He began playing trombone at age four and has been touring with his band, Orleans Avenue, since 2019. Andrews this year won his first Grammy for his work on Jon Batiste’s album We Are.

Trombone Shorty is best known for the 2010 album Backatown, which reached number 3 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart and was nominated for the 2011 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album, and his 2011 follow-up record, For True, which reached number 1 on the Billboard Jazz Albums Chart and was his first album to chart on the Billboard 200.
