South Carolina Is the 6th Worst State for Racial Equality in Education – WalletHub Study
WalletHub recently released their rankings for Best States for Racial Equality in Education and South Carolina ranked being the sixth worst in the country.
In order to determine which states have the most racial equality in education, WalletHub compared the 50 states across six key metrics. Their data compares the difference between white and black Americans in areas such as high school and college degrees, test scores and graduation rates. Below, you can see highlights from the report.
Racial Equality in Education in South Carolina (1=Most Equality; 25=Avg.):
- 41st – Share of Adults with at Least a High School Degree
- 45th – Share of Adults with at Least a Bachelor’s Degree
- 40th – Standardized-Test Scores
- 29th – Mean SAT Score
- 47th – Average ACT Score
- 15th – Public High School Graduation Rate
