Share House Celebrates Pride Extravaganza

In honor of Pride Month, Uptown Hospitality Group – the team behind popular King Street concepts Uptown Social, Share House and Bodega – organized a Pride Extravaganza event with the Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA) on Saturday, June 11th. The drag brunch and burlesque show was hosted by local celeb drag queen Venus Alexander and featured live entertainment from five queens, along with food and drink specials from Share House. The event raised $3,000 for AFFA to support their mission of ensuring equality for the LGBTQ+ community.  

“We are lucky to be a part of the Charleston community and partner with organizations such as AFFA who are dedicated to supporting and bettering our community,” says Keith Benjamin, Uptown Hospitality Group Co-Founder and Director of Operations. “Through creative events, our rotating roster of live music and supportive partners and staff, we strive to offer energetic and inclusive experiences where there is something for everyone.”

Located at 23 Ann Street, Share House opened in February 2022 and offers a coastal cantina vibe. The former train depot building includes an indoor-outdoor layout with expansive garage doors opening onto a lush pedestrian walkway that spans an entire block. Two hundred feet of patio space is ripe for enjoying Charleston’s mild, coastal climate and festive, boozy brunches year-round.

The menu at Share House is overseen by Executive Chef Alec Gropman and features snacks such as Shrimp & Avocado Empanadas with Passion Fruit Fresno Jam and Street Corn Hushpuppies with Cotija Cheese, Chipotle Aioli and Smoked Jalapeño Crema; along with a slider menu including Crab Cake with Bibb Lettuce, Pickled Onions and Honey Basil Aioli; or Vegan Chorizo with Guacamole, Chimichurri and Micro Greens, all served on house made Hawaiian slider rolls. An extensive local and craft beer menu along with creative cocktails rounds out the Share House experience.
