Palmetto Goodwill Partners with U.S. Department of Labor to Deliver Employment Assistance to Transitioning Service Members, Spouses
Palmetto Goodwill is one of eight organizations to partner with the U.S. Department of Labor today on its Veterans’ Employment and Training Service. The Labor Department signed a memorandum of understanding with the organizations in support of VETS’ Employment Navigator and Partnership Pilot.
Employment Navigators are located at select military installations worldwide to provide one-on-one employment assistance to transitioning service members and their spouses. To aid their specific transition needs, Employment Navigators connect individuals with government and non-government partner organizations for additional employment services.
Palmetto Goodwill has a proud history serving veterans through its Palmetto Warrior Connection so the collaboration with the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service was a logical step. The additional approved partners are Still Serving Veterans in Huntsville, Alabama; Lessons Learned for Vets Podcast in Glendale, Reveille Foundation in Goodyear, and Veterati Inc. in Phoenix, Arizona; Lucas Group in Atlanta, Georgia; Oplign in Virginia Beach; and Operation Military Family in Edmond, Washington.
VETS selected organizations with a proven capability to provide employment and training services to transitioning service members and their spouses. Partner organizations will support apprenticeship opportunities, hiring events, digital matching of skills and experiences, employment mentorship, employment networking, job placement, referrals to employment opportunities, training services and wrap-around services within communities.
Services are provided at no-cost to transitioning service members and their spouses to extend services after transition and to provide ongoing support.
